Alexander Harutyunian


He was born in 1920 in Yerevan. In 1941 he graduated from the Yerevan Conservatory, the class of compositions after S. Barkhudarian and V. Talian and the class of piano of O. Babasian.
From 1946 until 1949 he studied the class of G. Litinski, N. Bejko, V. Tsukerman in the studio of the Armenian Culture House in Moscow.
Since 1954 he has been the head of the Armenian Philharmonic Society. From 1962 until 1977 he lectured in the Yerevan Conservatory.
