Anna Adamyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1980, and began her piano studies at the Zareh Sahakyanz Music School, under Olga Pashayan. Her studies continued first at the Tchaikovsky Music School in Yerevan, where she studied under Elena Sahakyan, and later at the Yerevan State Conservatory, where she studied under the celebrated pianist and Professor Armen Babakhanian; she graduated from the Conservatory with honors in 2003. She likewise attended Master Classes with notable pianists, including Paul Pollay and Anna Mailkova.
She has already received several awards (including "Student of the Year" from the Union of Armenian Help Foundation, 2000), and has performed as a soloist and with chamber ensembles in Armenia as well as Great Britain. She is currently active as a music teacher and as an accompanist with the Hover Chamber Choir in Yerevan. As is evident from the recordings featured here, Ms. Adamyan is comfortable in a wide range of musical styles, from Baroque to Modern. We are pleased to feature the work of this promising young pianist.
