Edward Tadevossian


Born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1947, he graduated from Tchaikovsky School of Music under Distinguished teacher Tatiana Hairapetian in 1965, and in 1970 he completed his education at Moscow Conservatory with Prof. Leonid Kogan.

He has performed recitals and with symphony orchestra in the republics of former USSR and abroad (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Netherlands, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand).

In 1970, Mr.Tadevossian became a member of Komitas Quartet playing 2-nd violin. Later, in 1976, he undertook the position of the 1-st violin. He has toured more than in 50 countries with the quartet.

He is a Professor of Yerevan Conservatory holding the Chair of String Instruments. He is also the Dean of the Department of Orchestral instruments.

Edward Tadevossian became a laureate of Trans Caucasus competition in 1965 as well as several International competitions in Europe (Veniavsky Competition, Poland, 1967, M.Long and J.Tibo competition, France, 1969).

He has been honored with titles of a People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia in 1984 and a Laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Armenia in 1985.

He has received highest critical acclaim of the Press wherever he has performed, released many recordings, premiered works of Armenian composers.
