He was born in 1919 in Moscow, died in Yerevan in 1986.
From 1937 to 1941 he studied in the Leningrad Conservatory, the class of piano of V. Sofroninski and the class of compositions after A. Gladkovski. He excellently graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory in 1942, being at evacuation in Tashkent.
Everybody accepted him with great enthusiasm when, in 1944, he came to the Yerevan Conservatory. As a brilliant teacher he educated more than 60 composers and 100 pianists.
